Disclosure: we make apt video ai, one of the four tools below. Everything about the other three comes from their own public pages, checked on October 14, 2026 — prices and features change, so check before you buy.
The BAD TIMES trend — a person or pet having an over-the-top argument with the camera, lip-syncing Imael Angel's song — has a handful of one-photo generators. They look alike from the outside, but they make the video in three very different ways, and that decides how close your clip gets to the original.
Is there a CapCut template for the Bad Times trend?
Not one made for it. When we checked on October 14, 2026, a Google search for "bad times capcut template" turned up unrelated "my time is bad" templates and generic CapCut tutorials — nothing built around this argument. A template is also an edit of someone else's clip: it can't make your dog stand up and act out the routine, or lip-sync you to the song. We didn't find a page for this trend on Dreamina, CapCut's AI video generator, either, so you'd have to describe the whole argument in a prompt, and the AI would improvise the moves.
The tools below skip the app and start from one photo of you or your pet.
The short answer
- Closest to the original moves, up to 1080p: apt video ai
- Full 30-second take at the lowest price per video (if you buy a big pack): Starrd
- Edit the routine yourself in plain English: Kavel
- Try it free before paying: Fuzana

How each tool makes the video
Motion from the original (apt video ai, Starrd)
Both start from the real BAD TIMES take, so the timing and the beats — head in hands, the hand on the hip, the "hold on" palms, the lunge at the lens — line up with the clip people already know. apt video ai uses a depth map of the original: it carries only movement and camera, never the original performer's face or outfit, and your photo supplies the look and the room. The trade-off with this approach is cost: the provider bills the reference clip as well as the output.
Text prompt from a first frame (Kavel)
Kavel uses your photo as the first frame and describes the routine in a prompt, which you can rewrite. It's flexible and cheap to run, but the AI improvises the moves, so the result is a Bad Times-style argument rather than a beat-for-beat recreation. Clips are 12 seconds and come back with their own dance track.
Audio-driven lip sync (Fuzana)
Fuzana syncs your pet's mouth syllable by syllable to a vocal track — its own original hook, not the Imael Angel recording. The mouth movement is the most exact of the four, but the body doesn't follow the original routine, and once you swap in the real song on TikTok the lip sync no longer matches.
What one video really costs
Credits make prices hard to compare, so here is each tool's price for one video in US dollars:
- apt video ai: credits cost about $0.41–0.50 each. The 15-second Balanced video is 15 credits at 480p (about $6–7.50); the full 30 seconds on Seedance 2.5 is 55 credits at 480p (about $23–27), 120 at 720p and 205 at 1080p. Each account's first full 480p video is 20 credits, which the $9.90 trial pack covers.
- Starrd: the template is 250 credits; packs run from $4.99 for 100 credits to $49.99 for 1,500, so one video is about $8.33–12.48.
- Kavel: $9.99 for one 12-second clip without a plan; on its yearly plans the 430 credits a clip uses cost roughly $1.50–3.
- Fuzana: a 15-second clip is 25 credits; packs run from $14.99 for 25 credits to $117 for 300, so about $9.75–15.
Which one should you use?
- You want it to look like the real trend: a motion-from-the-original tool — apt video ai or Starrd.
- You want your first full 30-second video: apt video ai's first full video is $9.90 with the trial pack, in the same price range as Starrd.
- You'll make many full 30-second videos: Starrd is cheaper per video; apt video ai costs more but adds 720p and 1080p.
- You want a short clip: apt video ai's 15-second highlight, or Kavel if you're on its subscription.
- You want to change the routine: Kavel.
- You only want to see if your pet photo works: Fuzana's free preview.
Whatever you use: pick a clear, well-lit photo of one pet or one person facing the camera, label the video as AI when you post, and add the official "BAD TIMES" sound from TikTok's library if your tool doesn't include it.
FAQ
Is there a CapCut template for the Bad Times trend? Not one made for it, as of October 14, 2026. Searches turn up unrelated "my time is bad" templates. A template edit also can't make a pet stand up and argue, or lip-sync you to the song.
Can I make the Bad Times video without the CapCut app? Yes. apt video ai runs in the browser: upload one photo of yourself or your pet and get the whole 30-second take (or a 15-second highlight) with the song, no prompt needed.
Can my dog or cat do the Bad Times trend? Yes. apt video ai takes pet photos on the original template and has a dog & cat version that follows a husky's take; the pet stands on its hind legs and keeps its own paws and face. Fuzana also makes pets lip-sync, but to its own vocal and without the original moves.
Which tool includes the real BAD TIMES song? apt video ai adds Imael Angel's "BAD TIMES" to the video. Kavel and Fuzana come back with their own tracks, so you add the official sound in TikTok.
