Character swap guide

APT AI character swap: cast your duo

Two photos go in, one APT. clip comes out. Photo 1 takes the drummer's seat, Photo 2 takes the singer's mic, and both perform through about 26 seconds of the pink studio routine.

How the character swap works

The pink studio is a locked template. The set, the shots, the cuts and the camera moves all follow the original APT. music video, so you never write a prompt or plan a scene.

When you generate, the two performers on that stage are replaced by the people in your photos. Expressions, lip movement and upper-body motion follow the track for both of them. It is a full two-person performance, not a single face pasted onto a frozen frame.

Who plays which role

Roles are fixed by slot. Photo 1 is always the drummer and Photo 2 is always the singer. There is no setting to flip them after the render starts, so decide before you press Generate.

Want a different line-up? Use Replace on either slot to swap the photos around. The preview in the studio shows exactly who will land where.

  • Photo 1 → drummer
  • Photo 2 → singer
  • To switch roles, swap the photos before generating

Choosing photos that swap cleanly

The model can only work with what it sees. A clear face gives it the most to keep consistent across every shot of the routine.

  • One person per photo — crop group shots first
  • Face the camera, with nothing covering the face (sunglasses, masks, hands)
  • Even lighting, without hard shadows across the face
  • A sharp photo without heavy filters or beauty effects
  • JPG, PNG or WebP, under 20 MB each

Picking a quality

A 480p video costs 20 credits and a 720p video costs 45 credits. Both use the same stage and the same routine; 720p is sharper on large screens and holds up better after social apps compress it.

A good habit: test a new pair of photos at 480p, then render the one you plan to post at 720p. If a render fails, its credits go straight back to your balance.

Reviewing your result

Renders usually take a few minutes. The studio shows progress, and every finished clip stays in your studio history, so you can leave and come back.

If a face does not look like the person in the photo, the input is almost always the cause. Try a sharper, front-facing photo with even light and generate again.

Consent and fair use

Only upload photos of people who agreed to be featured, and do not use the clip to impersonate anyone. apt video ai is an independent fan-made tool and is not affiliated with ROSÉ, Bruno Mars or their labels.
